Project
Three-year
project (October 2001- September 2004) supported by the European
Commission's Information Society Technologies (IST) with participants
from Britain, Italy and Sweden. to develop prototype educational
products and services that are inexpensive, portable and accessible
to the majority of EU citizens. The pilot project used mobile
phones to target of young adults (16 to 24) who are not currently
taking part in education or training and to assist them in the
development of life long learning objectives using activities
designed to develop aspects of literacy and numeracy.

International
research project (July 2002-December 2004) exploring context-sensitive,
informal, problem-based and workplace learning via mobile technologies.
Objectives include:
defining models for effective learning, instructional
design and content development for a mobile environment;
developing a reference mobile learning architecture
that supports mobile devices, context awareness tools, integrated
mobile media delivery, learning content management systems, and
collaborative learning applications
developikng a business model and implementation strategies
for successful EU-wide deployment of mobile learning by studying
existing business models and market trends and analyzing the external
environment.
